The MIELKE Foundation’s Charity Fishing Tournament will take place at The Vinoy Renaissance Resort & Golf Club in St. Petersburg on November 3rd and 4th. The finest captains will be paired with business leaders, corporations, sponsors and anglers. Don’t miss this opportunity for a weekend full of fishing, fun and food!
Team up with Heart Gallery of Tampa, Voices for Children of Tampa, Grow Into You, the MIELKE Foundation, and Jackson Custom Pools and help local children waiting for their forever families.
Target Species - Inshore Slam:
- Snook
- Redfish
- Spotted Seatrout
Target Species - Trash Can Slam:
- Jack Crevalle
- Ladyfish
- Catfish
Awards:
- The team awards will be based on most total inches for the three single largest Snook, Redfish and Trout per team.
- The Individual awards will be based on single largest Snook, Redfish and Trout.
- There will also be a team Trash Can Slam award based on most total inches for the three single largest Jack Crevalle, Ladyfish and Catfish.
- There will be an individual award for the largest SLAM in the Adult Ladies division. If NO lady angler has a slam, then most total inches for any combination of single largest Snook, Redfish or Trout will win.
- There will be an individual award for the largest SLAM in the Youth division. The youth division is limited to anglers under the age of 18 as of the tournament day. If NO youth angler has a slam, then most total inches for any combination of single largest Snook, Redfish or Trout will win.
- Any Lady angler or Youth angler wishing to participate in their respective divisions must be registered with their team at the registration table.
In addition to the fishing competition, the tournament includes a poker run with Yeti 65-Tundra coolers going to the winning 5 card hand for all four anglers and their Captain. Teams will receive one card at the Captain’s meeting or leaving dock, and one card upon turning in their scorecards at the end of the tournament. Each angler can receive one additional card by visiting one of the fun boat check-in points up to a maximum of two additional cards per angler.

OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT RULES & REGULATIONS ,/strong>The rules, guidelines and schedule will be reviewed at the Captain’s Meeting September 24th 2022 at 9:00am. The Captain’s Meeting is MANDATORY for at least one representative from your team. Teams will consist of up to 4 anglers and may provide their own Captain or have one assigned by the tournament director.
Captain’s meeting will be held at the docks at the Vinoy Marina which is across from The Vinoy Renaissance St. Petersburg. All boats/teams/individual entries must be paid and registered prior to the starting the event.
The schedule for fishing on Saturday, November 4th, 2023 will be based on the honor system using lines-in and lines-out times. The official lines-in start time is 9:30 am EST and fishing will conclude with all lines-out by 3:30pm EST. Teams must depart from and return to the Vinoy Marina. They are permitted to depart after the Captain’s meeting and should plan to be back on the docks by 4:00pm EST.
This is a catch-photo-release ONLY tournament. Anglers will take a digital photo of any fish they wish to be scored at the time they land the fish for proof of and catch and timestamp. FOR ANY FISH TO BE SCORED, A DIGITAL PHOTO MUST BE PROVIDED TO THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR UPON REQUEST. All digital photos must have the tournament piece clearly in the photo. Pictures should be taken with the nose of the fish, facing left, flush against the ruler 0” line and the far-right edge with a pinched tail. Pictures need to include the ENTIRE fish and CLEARLY show the overall length as well as the provided tournament piece 0” line visible. Any photos of fish that are unclear or do not clearly show the fish on the measuring ruler with the tournament piece in the photo will be subject to disqualification as determined by the tournament director. In the event of a TIE in length, the winner will be awarded to the team that submits their photo with the earlier time stamp. Score cards will be given out for each team at the Captains meeting and will be returned at the dock at the completion of fishing.
This is an inshore slam tournament.

The GPS coordinates are listed below and they are intended to be easily accessible near the fishing grounds for tournament participants. Beer, cocktails, water, ice & cigars will all be available at the fun boats. Teams will play their 5-best cards at the awards ceremony from all cards collected.
All fishing and angling methods must comply with current Federal and State regulations. You must catch and reel the fish to boat with hand held, non-motorized rod and reel. Live OR artificial bait IS allowed and any species in season may be kept within legal limits and at the Captain’s discretion.
This is a Captain’s Choice Tournament. It is up to the discretion of the registered captain to determine whether his or her craft is seaworthy for existing sea and weather conditions.
Two or more boats coming in physical contact during fishing hours in any manner will be disqualified. Sportsmanlike conduct is expected at all times.
The tournament committee has the right to refuse entry to any applicant. All Registered boats must comply with State and U.S.C.G. safety regulations. All decisions of the Tournament Committee and Director are final.
