17th Annual Fire Charity Fishing Tournament
KAYAK & SUP DIVISION

The FCF Foundation Inc., is a charitable organization dedicated to raising awareness and funds for local youth and first responder based charitable causes while preserving the sportfishing culture for our youth, young adults, and community during a FREE family friendly weekend long event for the public to enjoy.

Registration fee is $125/participant. This includes iAngler registration fee. Division capacity will be limited.

RESPONSIBILITY
All entrants and guests of the tournament are participating at their own risk. In no way is the City of Bradenton, its council members, employees, volunteers, its successors or its assigns, patrons, or the Tournament Committee, its Board of Directors and Officers or Fire Charity Fishing Tournament Committee Members liable for injuries or property damage because of participation in the tournament.
ELIGIBILITY
• All sports fishermen (male and female) are eligible to participate. For participants younger than 18 years of age, a signed 2024 parental waiver is required to participate, without exception.
• Any person convicted of a fishing violation is ineligible to participate for five years following the date the criminal offense occurred.
• All requests for pre-tournament determination of eligibility should be submitted, in writing, to the Committee prior to the captains’ meeting.
REGISTRATION
• Paddle division participants must register on iAngler Tournament (https://ianglertournament.com, iAngler Tournament in App Store).
• Registration is open until 11:00a.m. ET on Friday, June 7, 2024. The number of entries will be limited, and registration may be closed without further notice.
• There will be non-refundable registration fee of $125.00. Any registration received after 11:00a.m. ET on June 9th, 2023, will be subject to a late fee of $50.00.
• Each participant must register and pay the related fee on an individual basis, even if using a tandem craft such as kayak or canoe.
• Each participant will be assigned a tournament number card which must be always displayed in a prominent place on the craft.
• Participants must provide a phone number with registration should a polygraph examination be required.
GENERAL
• All participants must adhere to the Game and Fish Law of the State of Florida for the tournament duration.
• It is the responsibility of each participant to understand and adhere to all tournament rules and regulations.
• The major rewards of the Tournament will be healthy competition, fun, and fellowship. We expect all participants to uphold the highest standards of honesty, sportsmanship, and conservation.
• NO MOTORS ALLOWED. All participants must manually paddle and/or peddle their craft. The use of any type of engine is strictly prohibited. Participants may not be transported or towed by a motorized vessel.
• 100 feet must be kept between participants while fishing unless agreed upon by both parties.
• Fish may be caught using live bait or lures. Wade fishing is permitted however the craft must be always tethered to the participant. Shore fishing is NOT permitted.
• Non-registered individuals may not assist registered participants by reserving locations, spotting fish, procurement of bait, or otherwise providing a competitive advantage.

SAFETY
• Safe boating procedures must be always observed.
• Each participant must follow U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) and Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission (FWC) rules including the possession of a Personal Flotation Device (PFD) and a sounding and/or signaling device.
• Should participants launch their craft before sunrise or after sunset, navigation lights in accordance with USCG regulations must be utilized.
• It is the responsibility of each participant to understand and adhere to all relevant USCG and FWC guidelines.
• Each participant should provide a Float Plan to a trusted contact ashore.
• Any craft operated in an unsafe and/or unsportsmanlike manner shall be ineligible to receive prizes.
CAPTAINS' MEETING
• Tournament briefings will be held at 12:00p.m. ET and 6:00p.m. ET on Friday, June 7, 2024, at Rossi Park in Bradenton, FL. The purpose of this meeting is to review Tournament rules and regulations.
• Any decisions, rulings or announcements made at these meetings supersede all prior written tournament rules.
• Attendance at ONE of these meetings is MANDATORY. Participant registration is NOT complete until a physical check-in at one of these meetings is completed.
• Participants will receive their identifying number for photo submissions and bump board upon meeting check in.
AWARDS CEREMONY
• An outdoor ceremony will be held at Rossi Park in Bradenton, FL, on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 4:00p.m. ET.
• Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place based on total points.
• The Committee reserves the right to adjust timing of the awards ceremony due to participation and weather delays.
• The Committee reserves the right to adjust awards. Information will be provided at the Captains’ Meeting.
• Payout of awards totaling $1,000.00 or more may be postponed until two days following the tournament at the discretion of the Committee.
• PARTICIPANTS MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN.
TAX LIABILITY
• Participants are responsible for any income tax liability accrued by virtue of winning cash or prizes.
POLYGRAPH
• Winners may be required to submit to polygraph examinations, which may be postponed until Sunday, June 9, 2024, or Monday, June 10, 2024.
• Payment to winners may be delayed until polygraph testing is completed.
• All participants are subject to examination by a third-party polygraph testing.
INCLEMENT WEATHER / CANCELLATION
• In the event of inclement weather, a decision will be made by the Committee whether to delay, postpone, or cancel the tournament at the Captains’ meetings.
PROTEST
• All protests must be submitted to the Tournament Committee in writing accompanied by a $100 check no later than 15 minutes after the close of fishing.
• All winners may be subject to a polygraph examination.
• All participants will be required to submit for testing immediately at the request of the Committee.
Legitimate protests will have the $100 refunded.
FISHING TIMES
• Participants may fish for the twenty-four hours beginning at 2:00p.m. ET on Friday, June 7, 2024, and ending at 2:00p.m. ET on Saturday, June 8, 2024.
• Submissions will NOT be accepted after 2:00 PM EST on Saturday, June 8, 2024.
FISHING AREA
• Participants may venture as desired; all craft must be launched from a public water access point in Manatee County or Sarasota County.
• Participants may remove their watercraft from the water to change fishing locations during the tournament.
TACKLE CLASSIFICATION
• All line classes may be fished during the event.
• Fish must be caught by hook and line. Spinning, casting, and fly tackle are acceptable.
SPECIES
• Eligible species for the Paddle division are snook, redfish, and trout.
SCORING
• Eligible fish will be scored using a point system based on species and length.
• There is no limit on the number of fish that may be submitted. No more than two (2) fish of the same species will be included in a participant’s final score. No more than six (6) total fish will be included in a participant’s final score.
• The six highest-scoring fish, two maximum per species, will be automatically selected to generate a participant’s final score. If less than six fish are submitted, the highest scoring fish will be used, two maximum per species, to generate a final score.
• Fish length will be assessed based on tail placement and rounded to the nearest whole inch (below half inch mark will be rounded down, at or above half inch mark will be rounded up).
• Fish must be submitted by uploading a digital photo to the iAngler Tournament platform. Photos must be clear enough to accurately identify species.
• In the event of a tie, the first angler to submit their photos into iAngler shall be awarded the highest place award.
• A live Leaderboard will be visible on iAngler for a portion of the tournament.
• Participants must submit fish by uploading a digital photo to the iAngler Tournament platform. Pictures must include the following to be eligible:
 Tournament card with participant number.
 Photo taken directly above the fish, not at an angle.
 Fish on the Tournament provided measuring board with the nose at the zero (0”) mark.
 Left side of fish shall be facing up. Right side up photos will not be eligible. THE ENTIRE FISH MUST BE VISIBLE IN THE PHOTO.
 Fish tails CAN be pinched while on the photographed board.
 No hands allowed in any picture.
 Location services must be turned to the “ON” position on the angler’s mobile phone for the duration of the tournament. Data embedded in photos uploaded to iAngler will ONLY be accessed by the Tournament Weigh-In team if necessary. This information will NOT be shared publicly.
